In June 2023, the Joint Programme hosted its Annual Technical Consultation in Jordan that brought together 100 participants from UNFPA and UNICEF headquarters, regional and country teams, creating a powerful platform for exchanging lessons, celebrating achievements and discussing challenges in addressing FGM. The shared experiences and knowledge gained during this consultation aims to shape the future programming to effectively eliminate FGM. This meeting report synthesizes the key takeaways and the way forward based on the thematic discussions such evidence generation and utilization, humanitarian crisis programming, youth empowerment, social and behavior change, gender transformation, systems strengthening, movement building, accountability and more.
