Support from civil society organizations
Partnering with membership-based, faith-based and other civil society organizations to uphold child rights.
>Back to Civil Society Partnerships
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to bring children the care they need to survive and thrive. But we can’t do it alone. We proudly partner with the world’s leading civil society organizations, like faith-based and membership-based organizations, to reach children with life-saving help and hope.
Non-political and impartial, we’re never neutral when it comes to defending children’s rights. UNICEF teams up with organizations and non-profits with shared objectives, to make our respective strengths, expertise and resources go farther.
Why partner with UNICEF?
UNICEF is the world’s leading organization for children. For more than 75 years, our strong relationships with Governments and civil society organizations have kept us a trusted champion of child rights.
We believe that every child, under every circumstance, has the right to be treated with compassion and dignity. Service organizations join us to forward this mission, bringing inspiration and hope to their own communities along the way.
Faith-based organizations are among UNICEF’s strongest partners. Our commitment to extend aid and comfort to the most vulnerable is embedded in the world’s major religious traditions. Faith communities have long supported UNICEF by sharing knowledge and experience to help us implement programmes, and by providing financial support. Many faiths issue a formal calling for members to aid those in need, for example through tithing, zakat or tzedakah.

How to partner with UNICEF
UNICEF partners choose how, where and what to support. Some look to get involved in emergency humanitarian responses. Others, a specific region or programme. And many are focused on eradicating a disease, like polio. Whether through strategic funding, advocacy or knowledge sharing, partners engage with us in the way that best suits their strengths and goals:
-
Strategic grants and partnerships: Providing resources for children through strategic grants, member engagement, gift matching and public-facing fundraising
-
Advocacy and communication: Lending your voice and influence to the issues that impact children most
-
Expertise: Sharing your expertise on faith, programming, giving, and social and behaviour change
