Parents and children passing through Manas International Airport can now enjoy more comfortable and welcoming parent-child spaces. These spaces were revamped as part of a larger collaboration between the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Manas International Airport, commemorating World Children’s Day on November 20.

The rooms, situated in the general section and the waiting area for local flights, now feature secluded breastfeeding rooms, play areas, as well as books and toys for children. The rooms themselves have been adorned to create a more inviting atmosphere for young travelers.

"We are delighted to partner with Manas International Airport and grateful for their support to parents and children. Literally, thousands of Kyrgyzstanis pass through the airport every day. Establishing conditions for the comfortable travel of parents and young passengers has become an essential necessity," says Cristina Brugiolo, UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan a.i.

Following the renovation, passengers can easily spot these areas from the hallways, thanks to their vibrant colors and distinctive door signs.

"This day is a special time to emphasize the importance of protecting children's rights and we invite everyone to join this noble initiative. In today's world, where children face various challenges and difficulties, support and attention to their needs become especially important. We believe that every child deserves love, care and the opportunity for full development. On this special day, let us together raise awareness about issues affecting children and support efforts to create a supportive environment for their growth and development. This can include attention to education, health care, safety and protection from violence. Together, let's create a world where every child can grow up happy and safe", - Mr. Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of MIA OJSC, noted.

Furthermore, passengers with children traveling through the airport on World Children’s Day received special gifts – an airplane to mark this day. This was part of the campaign titled "Give Children Wings to Fly," which aimed to encourage adults to support children in every possible way.

Local airline TezJet joined the campaign by announcing this special day during their flights and welcoming all children on board.
