Evidence that drives change for children
In a rapidly changing world where children’s rights are far too easily neglected, UNICEF Innocenti is asking key questions:
-
Why are children exposed to violence in the places they should be the safest?
-
Why are they not learning at school?
-
What drives children and families to uproot from their homes?
-
Why, even in the midst of wealth, do children live in poverty?
Throughout all our research we consider: How can we address these challenges? How can we better protect children’s rights, lives and futures?
To answer these questions – and many more – our research goes beyond a traditional approach of generating and curating evidence. Our work focuses on listening and engaging with children and young people. We complement this engagement by generating and leveraging the best research gathered with the most ethical methods. Our work is child-sensitive and gender-sensitive. And we work closely with the whole of UNICEF to provide answers and guidance on programmes and policies that improve children’s lives and help them build their futures.
