Fact Sheet: the impact of 365 days of the war in Ukraine
UNICEF is on the ground to support children and families both in Ukraine and in the neighboring countries
Highlights
The children and families of Ukraine have now endured 365 days of violence, trauma, loss, destruction, and displacement since the war escalated in February 2022. Of the 8 million refugees fleeing from Ukraine across Europe, the majority are women and children.
UNICEF was in Ukraine before the war escalated, and in the 365 days since, we have stayed and delivered. In countries hosting refugees from Ukraine, UNICEF works with national and local authorities, as well as civil society organizations to deliver emergency assistance and support services to families fleeing conflict in Ukraine.
