British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan H.E. Robin Ord-Smith and UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Yukie Mokuo start their visits to Batken province.

Bishkek/Osh/Batken, 13 June 2016 – Today British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan H.E. Robin Ord-Smith and UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Yukie Mokuo start their visits to Batken province. As part of a wider Ambassadorial visit to the South, H.E. Robin Ord-Smith will join the UNICEF Representative from 13-14 June to witness the results of past projects implemented by UNICEF with the UK Embassy’s support.
During the joint element of their visit, they will meet oblast and district level authorities, civil society and children and youth. They will visit the Day Care Centre ‘Umut’ for children with disabilities in Samarkandek municipality, the Youth Center in the village of Kulundu and the Out of School Children initiative in the village of Janyjer, Leylek rayon of Batken province. In addition, they will inaugurate a new community-based kindergarten in the village of Darhum.
The press conference on the results of the national Internship Programme implemented by UNICEF with UK embassy support will take place on 15 June, at 12:00 in the city of Osh (address: Hotel “Osh Nuru”, 1 Bayalinova Str.).
