New TV Show Aims to Promote Positive Parenting in Kyrgyzstan

UNICEF and the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation (NTRK) are proud to announce the launch of a series of television programs on positive parenting titled "Bobok." The 10-minute episodes will cover various topics, starting from breastfeeding and early learning to education and online safety.

The shows will feature advice from experts in different fields and answers to frequently asked questions. Parents are encouraged to watch them on NTRK and Balastan channels, as well as on the "Balastan" and UNICEF Kyrgyzstan YouTube channels.

"This collaboration with NTRK is a significant stride towards our shared goal of fostering positive parenting in Kyrgyzstan. By creating these engaging television programs, we aim to reach a wider audience and empower parents with useful and engaging information about raising children," says Cristina Brugiolo, Representative of UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan a.i.

The programs, which will be aired in the Kyrgyz language, are based on the content from UNICEF’s "Bebbo" mobile application dedicated to parenting. It offers parents expert advice on various aspects of children's health and development. In addition, the mobile application enables parents to maintain records of immunizations, medical check-ups, and other crucial developmental milestones during the early years of their children's lives.

“Our key goal is to help parents access the correct information about health, education, and the upbringing of their children. We hope that these series will be useful to all our thousands of viewers throughout the country,” said Adyl Akjol uulu, Deputy Director on Content of NTRK.

The partnership between UNICEF and NTRK is a testament to the commitment to the well-being of children in Kyrgyzstan. The television episodes are expected to have a lasting impact on the community by promoting positive parenting practices and enhancing the overall quality of childcare.
