Checklist of key considerations to promote effective and equitable learning recovery

About

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and widened deep inequalities. Girls, those from poor backgrounds, those living in rural areas, children with disabilities, children from ethnic minorities, adolescents and the youngest learners have been disproportionately affected by school closures and learning losses.  We must act urgently and at scale.  In line with the Framework for Reopening Schools, UNICEF has developed a checklist of key considerations and enablers for ministries of education to reach those who have been left behind.  It provides practical examples on how to identify children who have not returned to school;  focuses on learning recovery and how to provide tailored and comprehensive support to ensure well-being and protection needs are being met.
