Highlights

Generating accurate data on the situation of offenders and victims of crime under the age of 18 years is critical to support and inform decision-makers in developing effective laws and policies pertaining to child justice. This report was produced by the Supreme People’s Procuracy (Department of Criminal Justice Statistics and Information Technology), as the agency in charge of criminal statistics, to meet this need in Viet Nam. Based on statistics synthesized from local People’s Procuracies and stakeholders, disaggregated by sex, age group, ethnicity, region, type of crime, and other criteria, this report paints a broad picture of the child justice situation in Viet Nam in 2021, including under-18 offenders and victims of crime at national and sub-national levels.
