We've learned that some scammers spread false information about aid from UNICEF.
Please, note that UNICEF in Romania does not provide any type of cash assistance to refugees from Ukraine. Also, UNICEF does not charge beneficiaries for any service that UNICEF or its partners provide.
Please consider any messages on behalf of UNICEF on this matter as a scam and a phishing attempt.
The scammers send a link to a website where you can sign up for help. Through this link, users are asked to provide their personal information and bank number.
Please DO NOT click on the link and DO NOT provide your bank card details.
ALWAYS check official sources for information about assistance programs, including the UNICEF in Romania website: www.unicef.org/romania and www.unicef.ro
If you suspect you are being targeted by such fraudulent activities, REPORT it to the authorities.
