UNICEF and the OECD reviewed education systems in the Western Balkans countries and countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and analysed student learning outcomes from the region using the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2018. This booklet highlights the key analyses and findings from the two reports with insights into how systems in the region can improve schooling and learning outcomes following the school closures and disrupted learning during COVID-19 pandemic.
