The Third Annual KIX Symposium
12-13 October 2022
The Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX), in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), is pleased to invite you to the Third Annual KIX Symposium, which will be held virtually on October 12-13, 2022 from 12 NN – 1:30 PM CET.
The symposium will demonstrate how KIX supports evidence-informed policy dialogue for system transformation by taking a deep dive in two education priorities that have emerged through the initiative: Gender Equality and Data Systems/Use. Government partners, policymakers, and researchers will share their experiences on (i) how these priorities are being addressed through KIX’s applied research projects and Hubs, and (ii) how education stakeholders in GPE partner countries are using evidence and knowledge from KIX’s innovations and activities. The event will also provide an update on progress made in the third year and information on upcoming priorities.
On October 13, 2022, between 12:05 – 1:15 PM CET, the Data Must Speak (DMS) Positive Deviance Research will be on the panel on Data Systems and Data Use in Education of the 3rdGPE KIX Symposium where it will make a presentation on the difference DMS is making in influencing policy and guiding education management in a number of GPE partner countries. Following two years of implementation, the presentation will revolve around the DMS's experience in co-creating and co-implementing the research with governments and other education stakeholders in 14 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Additionally, the presentation will focus on how the DMS research leverages the extensive power of existing administrative datasets (e.g., Educational Management Information System – EMIS, examination data, household survey, etc.) and embed evidence into education systems.
