Highlights

This study establishes a baseline on the use of evidence within Phase II of the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to Accelerate Action to End Child Marriage (GPECM) in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. The study developed a set of indicators and tools for measuring the use of evidence in the GPECM Phase II that can be replicated at the mid-term and at the end of Phase II. The study analysed the use of evidence by UNICEF and UNFPA offices in the three countries in programming, design and delivery, advocacy, and M&E interventions during the first six months of Phase II.

This report was commissioned through the Global Programme to End Child Marriage implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The Programme is generously funded by the Governments of Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and the European Union and Zonta International.
